I'm going to take VLA data and learn how to overlay it on HST data (from what I understand as of yet) with IDL, and I have a lot of material on (partially) AGN's and the jets coming from galaxy centers. I'm very eager to know what portion of the sky it is so I can look it up in other catalogs as well, compare images and stuff.

Great post!
Brandon DoyleBrandon Doylehttp://www.brandon-doyle.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3103498977510230970.post-36037206884852987342011-10-17T23:52:45.640-04:002011-10-17T23:52:45.640-04:00What's the "chrominance noise"?What's the "chrominance noise"?Davidehttp://gioiosamdiariodicampagna.blogspot.com/p/introduzione.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3103498977510230970.post-37563003278390175212011-09-14T02:01:50.392-04:002011-09-14T02:01:50.392-04:00Our own sky is amazing enough. If we go right now ...Our own sky is amazing enough. If we go right now to this galaxy I guess we would just be overwhelmed.
Believe there ar some even tighter galaxies but can't remember which.
Nice shots. Wish I could do something like this.
All I have is a 130mm Vixen OTA and a 6.3 mm loupe of unknown origin. And a home made polar mount so even keeping the stars centered is a struggle. I can manage to get my sons DCS to fit to the tube and just about see the moon on the monitor screen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3103498977510230970.post-15224517460030415022011-09-03T22:58:40.821-04:002011-09-03T22:58:40.821-04:00Very beautiful! Even under not so great conditions, the magic of how signal to noise ratio on a shot noise limited regime works allows me to stack several images to increase signal at the expense of just the square root of the increased noise.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14235243574426776132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3103498977510230970.post-83091361013460520892011-06-29T10:39:00.217-04:002011-06-29T10:39:00.217-04:00That is a fantastic image of the moon!
